Hanna - Farmer, Pooncarie NSW
My picture of the struggle in farmer mental health is:
Continuing to show up despite being exhausted, constantly being stressed about the weather and how stock/wool prices are affecting our business, and sacrificing time with family & friends because work always comes first.
Some of the glimmer/joyful moments that reflect farmer mental health for me:
Working with my dogs and horses.
A little more about Hanna:
I am a sheep farmer in Far West NSW. I also work off farm in Admin one day per week and run an online business. I wanted to be involved because I have lost my sense of self since moving to the station and I’m tired of not seeing the reality of being involved in the Ag industry, the complexity of roles within it and sacrifices that are being made within farming businesses being discussed and represented.
